Goal of the game :

Collect 4 Medallions or collect 3 and reach the portal cell.

Hero Phase :

On their turn, the active player begins by consulting the action bar of their Hero Board. The highest visible number shows the available Action Points a Hero got. They use their Action Points to perform a range of actions (detailed in the next section). Heroes can perform the same action more than once per turn. Heroes do not need to spend all of their Action Points available on their turn, however, unused Action Points does not carry over to their next turn.

How to spend your Action Points ?

Movement (1 AP)

Move your Hero to a free, adjacent and visible square

Heroes cannot move through obstacles, or through standees, and cannot move diagonnaly. When a Hero crosses the Limbo, they reappear on the opposite side of the labyrinth. A Hero can move onto a space that is occupied by a Hero’s Stunned token, and steal an Amphora token from the Stunned Hero (if they have one).

Exploration (1 AP)

Reveal a face-down tile

The Minotaur spawn on the center cell of the Lair tile when it is revealed.

You can reveal a tile through Limbo. If a Spirit medallion is formed, don’t put the medallion token on the corresponding cells. Tiles must be manipulated to make it appear

Interaction (1 AP)

Activate the ability of a special space, or use an item.

When your Hero moves onto a space that features a symbol, they can interact with the symbol and use it’s special ability. You can use an item the same way, except the item is discarded after using.

Attacking (1 AP)

If your Hero is standing on a space next to another Hero, you can push the other character. The pushed Hero is moved one space away from you in a straight line. If the pushed Hero cannot move one space away, and would otherwise be pushed into an obstacle, they do not move, but become Stunned (see p.12). To defeat a Skeleton, Heroes only need to stand on a space next to a Skeleton. If it is on his flaming side up, attack a skeleton allows you to flip it. You will have to attack it again to finally defeat it. Keep the Skeleton next to your Hero board.

Attacks can push through Limbos and Ariadne’s threads. It triggers them. Note : Two standees can never occupy the same space.

Picking up (0 AP)

Take the Amphora you are standing on.</p

When your Hero moves onto a space with an Amphora token on it, you can pick up the Amphora token for free. Secretly look at the symbol on the token, then place it on one of the designated spaces on your Hero Board.

If a Hero is already carrying 2 Amphorae, before picking up any new Amphora, they must discard one. The discarded Amphora token is revealed and is removed from the game. Note : You cannot discard the Fortune medallion.

Heroic abilities (0 AP)

A drink of elemental quintessence grants a unique temporary feat.

Heroes can discard their Aether Potion to activate their Hero’s special ability

Medallion powers (0 AP)

Divine power flows through your body, to bestow bonus abilities

When a player earns a Medallion, their Hero becomes empowered with a range of additional abilities, gained from each of the different Medallions

labyrinth phase

Once the Lair tile has been revealed, the Boss Monster is placed. The player at the left of the active one becomes Ariadne. She will make note of the spaces through which the Hero moves, and controls the Boss’ movement. During the Hero Phase, Ariadne will put the colored Ariadne’ tokens from left to right according to the crossed threads

If a Medallion was awarded during the player’s turn, then the black Side-Effect token is placed at the end of the Ariadne’s Thread sequence. When you have to resolve it, do the side-effect of the corresponding medallion

After the active player’s turn has ended, Ariadne moves the Boss Monster in the direction of the arrows that correspond with the coloured sequence of Ariadne’s Thread tokens, from left to right.

If several identical Ariadne’s Threads were crossed, only the first token of the corresponding colour will be activated

Boss : The minotaur

The direction of the Minotaur’s movement is determined by the coloured arrows placed around the edge of the play area, when they are triggered by corresponding colour of the Ariadne’s Thread tokens placed during the Hero Phase. The Minotaur jumps from the centre space of one tile to the centre space of another tile. The Minotaur can move onto the centre spaces of unrevealed Labyrinth tiles, but never the Portal tile: he bounces on it and keep moving in the same direction.

Tremor

When the Minotaur jumps onto a Labyrinth tile, all Heroes on that tile receive a hades token, which must be placed on their Hero Board.

Crushing jump

In addition to the Tremor effects, if the Minotaur lands on the same space as a Hero, that Hero is immediately Stunned. The Minotaur can finish its movement on top of a Stunned Hero

Skeletons

When a Hero moves onto a space occupied by a Skeleton, or a space next to a Skeleton, the Hero must engage in combat with the Skeleton. A Hero who is engaged in combat, cannot move until someone attack to defeat the Skeleton. When a Hero defeats a Skeleton, the player takes the Skeleton token and places it to the right of their Hero Board. Once all Skeletons have been defeated, the Glory Medallion is awarded

Note : If the Skeleton token is flaming side up, players must use attack once to flip the Skeleton token over to the non-flaming side. Then the Hero must attack once again to defeat the Skeleton and claim the token.

Becoming Stunned

When your Hero becomes Stunned, you must immediately replace the Hero pawn with your Hero’s Stunned token : • They can only perform a move action. • They can move past another standee, and others may pass over the Stunned Hero, but they cannot end their turn on the same space as another standee. • When the Stunned Hero is on an empty space, they must spend 1 AP to replace their Stunned token with their standee and recover their full range of actions.

Note : You can move your Hero on top of a Stunned Hero to steal an Amphora from them.

The Hades token

When a Hero takes a hades token, it is placed on the action bar, reducing the total AP by 1. At the end of your turn’s Hero Phase, unless your Hero is still on the same tile as the Boss Monster, the hades token is discarded.

You can only ever have one hades token on your Hero Board.

Special spaces

Hermes’ Sandals

You can spend 1 AP to have your Hero charge. Charge : Your Hero charge in a single direction, as far as you want. He is forced to stop if they encounter an obstacle, however - all other Heroes they run past become Stunned, all Skeletons they pass by are instantly defeated, and all Amphorae your Hero runs over can be collected for free.
